Elections in Castle Pines
The City will conduct this elections through a mail ballot election coordinated with Douglas County. For FAQs about elections, visit www.douglasvotes.com.
Castle Pines registered voters will elect the following:
MAYOR: One four-year term
Ward 1: One four-year term
Ward 2: One four-year term
Ward 2: One two-year term
Ward 3: One four-year term
Ward 3: One two-year term
CITY TREASURER: One four-year term
The Mayor and City Treasurer are elected at-large.
City elections are non-partisan, meaning affiliation with a political party is not required or relevant.
Regular elections are held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of odd-numbered years. The City coordinates with Douglas County for regular elections. The next municipal election will be in 2019.

Must be a resident of the City and a registered elector who has resided within the City limits for a period of at least twelve (12) consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.
Each candidate for City Council must be nominated by a petition signed by at least 25 registered electors residing within the Ward from which the Council candidate is to be elected.
Mayoral and City Treasurer candidates must be nominated by a petition signed by at least 25 registered electors residing within the City of Castle Pines.
Only petitions obtained directly from the City Clerk’s office may be circulated. Blank petition forms may not be copied for the purpose of obtaining additional signatures or to give to other candidates. Petition forms from the City Clerk’s office may be disassembled. Each candidate must turn in all of his/her petitions at one time.

Register to Vote
You will need a Colorado State driver's license or an ID card issued by the Department of Revenue or other acceptable form of identification. Register to vote in person at the Douglas County Elections Office, or head to www.govotecolorado.com. You can verify your registration information, register online, or update your current registration with a new address on the state website.
