Now Accepting Applications for City Treasurer

This special appointment fills a vacancy made in the elected office of Treasurer when Gregg Fisher, former City Treasurer, was sworn in as a City Councilmember representing Ward 2 on Monday, January 8, 2018. The term of this position expires in January 2020, following the next regular City election in November 2019. This is an unpaid, volunteer position.

 

The City employs a deputy City Treasurer to handle day-to-day financial and accounting functions for the City and retains an outside auditor to annually perform an audit of the City’s financial statements.  Accordingly, the role of the City Treasurer is limited under Section 2-3-40 of the Municipal Code to include:

  • Review and comment on the financial operations and records of the City;
  • The option to attend City Council meetings and address the City Council on City financial matters; and
  • Communicate with the deputy City Treasurer as appropriate.

 

To qualify, applicants must be a registered elector and resident of Castle Pines for at least twelve months.

 

Completed applications may be dropped off at the Castle Pines Municipal Office, 360 Village Square Lane, or you may submit them via fax, mail or email to sharon.washington@castlepinesgov.com. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 16, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. City Council will review all of the applications and make a selection at the February 27, 2018, City Council meeting.
