Castle Pines North will be hosting its first ever Volksmarch Walk during OctoberFest on Saturday, September 25, 2010.  Two distances will be offered: 5 and 10 kilometers. The 5K is suitable for families with small children or those needing a shorter walk.  

Walkers will start at the OctoberFest area between 8:30 a.m. and noon.  All walkers need to cross the finish line by 3:00 p.m. The start and finish will be clearly marked with signs containing AVA or IVV, the name of the national and international Volksport associations.

The trail follows the public open space trails within the City. Maps and directions will be available at the start of the walk. The trail will be marked with AVA/IVV distinctive marking flags to guide walkers. The event is free of charge for walkers.  There is also an opportunity to receive credit for the distance and events, if one is a frequent participant in these walks. There is a nominal fee for ardent Volksmarschers to get their walk credit towards awards. 

The event is being organized and managed by the Woodland Wanderers and Falcon Wanderers.
