As a resident of Castle Pines for nearly 25 years, Mark Shively has taken on a new role to serve the city as the elected City Treasurer and appreciates this opportunity to be of service to the citizens.
Mr. Shively will help develop illustrations for Council members that display financial impacts of proposed City Council policies and can help City Council make optimal decisions in the best interests of the citizens.
Most importantly, Mr. Shively wants to be thrifty when spending money and strives to receive ultimate value for expenditures. His previous experience in financial matters includes serving as the former president and treasurer of the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District for four years as well as the former president and treasurer of Castle Pines Home Owners Association #1 for two years.
His ultimate goal is to see the city work together as a team, with the help of neighbors, to serve the best interest of the people in Castle Pines.
Mr. Shively serves as the Executive Director of Douglas County Water Resource Authority and dedicates his work to the pursuit of water resource conservation, education, and public policy issues surrounding water. Mr. Shively is active in Kiwanis Club of Douglas County and the Second Wind Fund for teen suicide prevention.
He enjoys spending time with Maureen, his wife of 25 years, and his two daughters.

Dan Schatz was recently elected to fill the seat and serve as the City Clerk for Castle Pines. Dan truly appreciates this opportunity to be of service to the citizens and looks forward to the time he can spend working with the City’s Elected Officials and staff members.
Dan Schatz has been a resident of Castle Pines since 1996. Dan is a U S Navy Veteran and serves on the Board of Directors for the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce.
